To be completely honest with you, I stumbled into jewelry design and creation by accident.
Many years ago, when my (then) fiancé proposed, he gave me a stunning solitaire ring consisting of a diamond that belonged to his mother. After I said yes (of course I said yes!) I had the idea for the matching band to contain the birthstones of all my loved ones. I figured I would find the stones and one of our local jewelers could craft it. But there was a problem. After all that planning and sourcing, there were no jewelers left in town.
There I was with a design, a collection of gems, and no one local to get the job done. So with my graphic and web design background and with my knowledge of certain manufacturing processes, I figured... You know what? I'll just do it myself. And if you know me, that stubborn and head strong statement won't surprise you at all.
That lead me down the road of discovery and learning into a beautiful place where I can be creative and craft beautiful things to help people feel beautiful when they wear them.
I still feel I have a lot to learn, and what I planned originally wasn't quite where my craft ended, but I fell in love with both the process and the end results, and I take great pride in every piece I make.
I sincerely hope you find something you will love as much as I loved making it.

I prefer to use natural stones in my pieces as much as possible. This means that the majority of gemstones will be in a natural state with either no alterations or no un-natural alterations, with the exception of cutting, faceting, and/or polishing. Alterations can include dying, glass filling, heating, smoking, irradiation, infusing with resin or oil, etc.
I also take great measures to source from reputable dealers who are usually able to source natural stones and/or disclose this information to me if/when the stone is altered.
Sometimes, however, I will find stones that are altered but are notable and beautiful enough to warrant being used in a piece. In addition, there are new manufactured stones that are being made available that look nothing like natural stones, but are visually stunning. I can also incorporate altered stones into custom work to help the budget conscious.
As such, I try to disclose to you when a stone is natural versus altered as accurately as possible. If I can not verify that the stone is unaltered, I will also let you know in the item description.
Please keep in mind that there are times when either the nature of the stone, or the process that the stone is provided to the market contains an industry standard alteration. Some good examples of this are: blue topaz - where the blue is produced by natural or induced radiation, turquoise - which has an industry standard process called stabilization to keep the material from being damaged, and mystic topaz - which is produced by infusing a transparent film to a natural stone to produce a colorful effect. I will still disclose this information to you but I will try to note when the alterations are an industry standard.
